In a single word, I must say it is “uncountable”. As we are discussing here, several new softwares related to mechanical engineering are being developed and released.

Some of the prominent softwares related to mechanical engineering (used by industries) are:
    1. AutoCAD (For 2D drafting and 3D modelling)
    2. Creo Parametric [formerly called Pro/ENGINEER] (Predominantly used for 3D modelling)
    3. CATIA (used for 3D modelling and rendering)
    4. NX Unigraphics (used for design, engineering analysis and manufacturing)
    5. Solidworks (used for 3D modelling)
    6. ANSYS (Used for engineering analysis and simulation)
    7. Siemens PLM Software (used for 2D & 3D Product Lifecycle Management)
    8. Vero Software Products (for CAM and CAD)

I don’t think you can count it. You can estimate the number of popular softwares, though.
